150 year old neighbour: Nanaimo, BC to Washington State and Seattle

After a long deliberation I decided to head East to Toronto (where I will visit a few days) via the US. I save 1,000 km, and I will admit to being a bit nervous.... but at the same time I am well aware that we have had a neighbour for 150 years and it would seem to be as good a time as any to try to see more of it than just along the two Coasts.

The day in numbers:

Km: 312 (but I switched to American measures so for the next few days I need to speak in miles I think!)

Hours: 5 and a bit

Border wait: 20 min (and I was super lucky to have a new gate open with a handsome and nice border guard)

Ferries taken: 1

Observations:

Mexican food in the States is incredible! I am reminded daily that I have great friends and family on this trip. Seattle is truly a beautiful city.

The photos are from end of day to beginning....

The Evergreen State (via UW campus on a quick tour)

My first ever visual of a fraternity house (on Greek lane) for a Canadian this was very surreal to see!

Dinner with a view and a fountain :)

Went to an excellent Mexican restaurant with great friends (with a spectacular view)

Seattle :)

A beautiful campus!
